Interior & Exterior Finishes
The exterior of the VB-1 is upholstered in a choice of plush velvet fabric finishes, offering a distinctive visual presence while maintaining a soft, acoustically sympathetic surface.
Internally, the walls and door detailing are finished in hard-wearing black polyester felt, selected for durability and additional sound reduction.
The removable acoustic wall panels and ceiling are covered in high-quality Black Camira Cara fabric, delivering a clean, professional studio aesthetic while remaining acoustically transparent.
The floor is finished with a luxury black medium cut pile carpet, laid over a PU underlay to enhance comfort underfoot and reduce footfall noise inside the booth.
Structural Build & Materials
The VB-1 is constructed using a layered structural system designed for rigidity, longevity, and acoustic performance. Both the outer and inner walls, along with the subfloor, are framed using 25mm structural plywood, providing a solid foundation and resistance to flexing or resonance.
The primary mass of the booth is formed using high-quality MDF, with 18mm boards used for the outer walls, roof, and base, and 9mm boards used for the inner walls, ceiling, floor, and internal void covers. This staggered mass approach helps control vibration and contributes to effective sound isolation.
Internally, the walls, ceiling, and removable acoustic panels are filled with 50mm acoustic Rockwool slabs for broadband sound absorption and soundproofing. The floor and ceiling incorporate multiple layers of insulation to further reduce noise transmission and improve internal acoustic control.
Door, Hardware & Detailing
The insulated door assembly is designed for both performance and usability. It incorporates a 500mm x 300mm clear acoustic laminated glass window, manufactured from 12.8mm thick acoustic laminate, allowing visibility while maintaining isolation. The glass is mounted within a Pysorb-s acoustic foam liner to minimise sound transmission through the door structure.
High-quality ball bearing parliament hinges are used to allow a maximum door opening, improving access and usability in tighter studio spaces. These hinges are constructed from electroplated stainless steel and are available in a range of colour finishes.
The door handle is a fold-flat design, finished to match the hinges and trims, reducing protrusions and maintaining a clean, considered look. The long vertical external trims are foil finished to ensure long-term durability and lustre.
Integrated Systems: Power, Ventilation & Lighting
The VB-1 is supplied as standard with an integrated power solution, including a twin mains electrical socket with Type-A and Type-C USB charging (12W). Power is delivered via a replaceable IEC C13 (kettle) lead, available in various selectable lengths for flexible installation.
All external cables enter the booth discreetly through a choice of three concealed apertures in the floor-level trim, hidden by the wall overhang. Cables are routed through a baffled tunnel beneath the floor, exiting behind the electrical socket and vent panel. This tunnel is easily accessible by lifting a loose floor panel beneath the carpet.
Ventilation is provided as standard via a passive airflow system. Cool air enters through the vent grille beneath the electrical socket, while warm air exits through a narrow gap surrounding the recessed ceiling downlight. This airflow path also removes heat generated by the lighting. Acoustic baffles and foam within the floor and ceiling airways minimise sound leakage in both directions. An optional active air extraction unit is available for increased airflow and cooling.
Lighting is provided by a large RGBW LED downlight, fully recessed into the ceiling to maximise internal height. The light is permanently wired, does not occupy a power socket, and is controlled via a supplied remote, allowing on/off control, dimming, and colour changes.
